Taranaki Hospital Renal Unit

PROJECT:  Taranaki Hospital Renal Unit – Te Huhi Raupō

OUR CLIENT:  Leighs Construction

OUR ROLE: Planner / Programmer (incl. monitoring & reporting)

Te Huhi Raupō is a purpose-built single-storey timber building, approximately 800m2 and has a distinctly non-clinical feel. It has 10 treatment chairs, along with two training rooms (to help patients learn to carry out their own care), an isolation room, and a self-care room. With net zero energy design, solar panels and rainwater harvesting tanks, the building shifts expectations of what is possible in sustainable healthcare architecture.
